SAP J2EE Engine 6.20 Stand-Alone Server corresponds to the functions provided by the cluster solution.
It can be administered using three administration tools – Visual Administrator, Console Administrator, and Property Files. Its administration is relatively easier than that of the cluster solution because it does not consist of a number of server and dispatcher nodes that must be configured separately.
All Console Administrator-specific commands exist in Stand-alone Server, but commands that list services or managers display all modules running in the Virtual Machine – that is, on both the server and dispatcher parts of Stand-alone Server.
When deploying an application, the same steps must be performed as for the cluster solution. There is no difference in deployment between the two.
